Opposition Decries PTI Ban as Undemocratic: ANP and Jamaat-e-Islami React

 

 

The decision to ban Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is childish and unwise, says Awami National Party (ANP) in their response. ANP stated that the path of political parties cannot be blocked through bans and obstacles. While political disagreements with PTI are their own, the government’s action would be foolish. There needs to be identification of those truly responsible for political instability. One political party is being used against another. The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) is doing the same thing now that PTI did in 2018 and 2022. Jamaat-e-Islami has also condemned the decision to ban PTI. Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman said that in democracy, these bans hold no significance. The true significance lies in the opinion of the people. The PDM government should respect public opinion and refrain from undemocratic decisions. Pakistan needs stability at this time, not instability.
