Court Postpones Hearing in Iddat Nikah Case Until Tomorrow

We will discuss the iddat nikah case. In the Islamabad District and Sessions Court, the hearing of the appeals against the sentence in the nikah case of the PTI founder and Bushra Bibi has been postponed until tomorrow. Judge Afzal Majoha also indicated that the case might be concluded by July 8. PTI founder’s lawyer Salman Akram Raja was instructed to complete his arguments tomorrow. The hearing of the central appeals against the sentence in the nikah case during the iddat period of the PTI founder and Bushra Bibi took place in the Islamabad District and Sessions Court.

PTI founder’s lawyer Salman Akram Raja said, “Khawar Maneka has misrepresented in front of the court. Mufti Saeed also said that the woman’s statement regarding iddat is final, but he misrepresented in court. He said the 90-day period is not for iddat but for reconciliation. It cannot be used as a sword against the woman.”

Lawyer Salman Akram Raja said, “If you look at the records, it becomes evident that political cases have been made against the PTI founder and Bushra Bibi.” Judge Shahrukh Jemand recused himself from the case on the day of the decision. Khawar Maneka’s lawyer requested to postpone the hearing until July 5. Judge Afzal Majoha instructed Salman Akram to complete his arguments tomorrow. He also indicated that the case might be concluded by July 8. The hearing was adjourned until 11 a.m. on Wednesday morning.
