Islamabad High Court Orders Reopening of PTI Central Secretariat

The Islamabad High Court has ordered the reopening of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Central Secretariat. This decision came after the Capital Development Authority (CDA) had sealed the building on allegations of violating regulations.

Court Proceedings

PTI had challenged the CDA’s action in the Islamabad High Court. Justice Saman Rizvi heard the case and stated in her decision that the CDA had not issued any proper notice to PTI before sealing the office.

Order

The court ordered the CDA to immediately reopen the PTI Central Secretariat. However, the court also stated that if any violations occur in the future, the CDA can take action according to the law.

Background

This decision came after PTI founder Imran Khan was acquitted in various cases by the court. Former Prime Minister Imran Khan was involved in nearly 200 cases and had been in jail since his removal from office in April 2022.

CDA’s Position

The CDA claimed that the PTI office building was constructed in violation of regulations. The court responded that no proper notice was issued and there was no evidence provided.
