PTI Announces Nationwide Sit-Ins Starting August 5th

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced sit-ins across the country starting from August 5th. Asad Qaiser stated that demonstrations will be held nationwide on August 5th. He said the current government is fake and imposed on us without a mandate. He invited all parties to sit together. He questioned how the poor can pay the expensive electricity bills. Omar Ayub said that the agreements they made with IPPs were at 2.5 cents. The PML-N had made agreements with IPPs at 16 cents.

Sheikh Waqas Akram said that they would go to the last extent for the release of PTI members and workers.

Omar Ayub said: condemned the fake cases filed against their colleagues. He criticized the current government, stating that its total effort is to pit the army against the people. He called the current setup unconstitutional and illegal, and said the only solution is immediate elections.

 Asad Qaiser said:  mentioned that the Supreme Court’s decision has specifically targeted their 41 MNAs to change their loyalties. He questioned whether the country can run this way. He said that in their meeting tomorrow, they would decide that all their parliamentarians will come to D-Chowk or wherever there is a demonstration. On August 5th, they will hold large rallies and demonstrations across the country on two issues. He supported Jamaat-e-Islami’s stance to revisit the agreements with IPPs. He added that PTI cannot be stopped by a Section 144 FIR.
