Government’s Intra-Court Appeal Against Nullification of NAB Amendments; PTI Founder Submits Written Response in Supreme Court

The PTI founder has submitted a written response in the Supreme Court, appealing for the dismissal of the government’s intra-court appeal against the nullification of NAB amendments. In his response, he argued that creating laws to protect any individual’s corruption is unprecedented, even in a republic. He emphasized that corruption is destructive for the economy and has negative repercussions.

During the hearing, Justice Athar Minallah remarked that the amendment would benefit the PTI founder as well. The founder clarified that his stance is not personal but a matter of national interest. He asserted that the Parliament should legislate within the constitutional framework. If NAB misuses its authority, amendments should be limited to preventing such misuse.

The PTI founder also cited the misuse of authority as exemplified by the Toshakhana case against him, where NAB inflated the value of a necklace from 18 million to 318 million.
