PM Shehbaz approves joint venture between Chinese and Pakistani companies
According to Radio Pakistan, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif approved the joint venture between Chinese and Pakistani companies, saying the promotion of inward and outward investment is the government’s top priority.He gave this approval during a meeting related to the Board of Investment in Islamabad. Prime Minister Shehbaz assured the Chinese investors that Pakistan is improving governance and directed to submit a detailed report on the progress of agreements made with Chinese companies during his visit to Shenzhen, China. After his recent visit to China, he also called for updating the Special Economic Zones One-Stop Shop Law, which aims to create a business-friendly environment for traders and investors. He highlighted the possibilities of shifting China’s textile, leather, and footwear industries to Pakistan. During the meeting, the Secretary of the Board of Investment said that steps are being taken to shift Chinese industries to Pakistan, including the hiring of Chinese experts for the establishment of the Islamabad Business Facilitation Center.
